Want to know more about your stay with Ashby’s Accommodation? Here are some frequently asked questions that will help you find what you’re looking for.

BOOKING, PAYMENT AND CHECK-IN

How do I book?
The easiest way to book is online through our direct website. Alternatively, you can call us and book over the phone.
Do you take a security deposit?
We may require a £50 security deposit depending on booking size.
What time is check-in?
Check-in is from 3pm until midnight.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is 10:30 am
How do I check-in?
Key collection will be from 5 Auckland Road West (The White House), PO5 3NY, which is next door to Ashby’s Accommodation. Guests will be asked to provide proof of identity (e.g. passport, driving licence, ID card or police warrant card). Please note that check-in will be from this address only. Google will direct you to Ashby’s Place, where there are security doors that will be closed, so please follow the above check-in instructions. Rooms are available from 3pm on the arrival date. Please let us know if you are likely to arrive after 11pm.
What happens when I check-in?
After arriving at 5 Auckland Road West (The White House), PO5 3NY to check in, you will receive information on parking and be given the keys. A security deposit of £50 may be requested upon arrival. You will also receive a personal tour of Ashby’s Accommodation.
How do I check-out?
Rooms must be vacated by 10:30 am on the day of departure. Failure to leave your room by this time may result in a late check-out charge of £50. Keys need to be returned to 5 Auckland Road West (The White House), PO5 3NY. Lost keys will be charged at £50.

FACILITIES AND ACCESSIBILITY

Travel information
If you are travelling from the North or across from the South West, join the M27/A27 and follow the brown tourism signs to the seafront. There are plenty of local signs near Portsmouth seafront that will direct you to Southsea Clarence Esplanade. Auckland Road West is immediately off this road.
Is there parking available?
You can park in the NCP car park (Ashby Place, off Osbourne Road, PO5 3NA) to the rear of the property for £12 per day. Alternatively, we can reserve you a resident’s permit for £6 for 24 hours for street parking, payable on arrival. We also have a mobility bay and an E.V charger port. Please contact us with any enquiries on these as they will need to be booked in advance of your stay.
Is there WiFi available?
Ashby’s has four networks to ensure that high-speed Wi-Fi is available at all times.
Does the accommodation have a lift
There is no lift access.
Can I bring a pet with me?
Pets are not allowed onto the premises, with the exception of guide dogs.
What size are the beds?
Double, King and Super King.
Do I need to bring my own towels?
No, towels will be provided.
Can I smoke in the accommodation?
No, smoking is not permitted inside the premises. This includes the smoking of e-cigarettes. Permitted smoking areas are located to the front and rear of the property. Smoking on the premises outside of the designated smoking areas will result in a £100 fine. Drugs are also not permitted.

What happens if I cancel?
Strict cancellation policy taken.
What cleaning protocols are in place?
Ashby’s adheres to Airbnb’s 5-step enhanced cleaning process.
Where is the fire evacuation meeting point?
Guests should assemble in the car park via the front entrance, to the rear into Auckland Road Place. Please note that we will go through fire safety upon your arrival.
Do I have to clean before I depart?
Not for regular room bookings.
Am I allowed to bring appliances into the accommodation?
Please do not bring electrical appliances that are not already provided that may set off the fire alarm system, such as toasters, mini cookers or portable grills.
Are other people allowed into the accommodation?
Only registered guests are allowed on the premises and extra guests found entering without the owners’ prior permission, will be charged at £25 per person.
Until what time am I allowed to play music?
The piano is not to be played after 10pm and music should be played to low levels in the bar area after this time, unless booked for the purposes of a private party. No music should be played after midnight.
When will management or housekeeping be allowed to access the property?
Management, housekeeping or maintenance should have access to your room(s) as and when required, with housekeeping permitted full access at least once every two days.
I loved my stay, can I book a guest voucher for someone else?
We do not have a voucher scheme at present.

ADDITIONAL RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

Do not remove, damage or destroy any property belonging to Ashby’s.

Do not use any of the technology provided by Ashby’s to download or access any unlawful or obscene material.

Do not cause unreasonable disturbance to our other guests.

If you or your group cause damage or loss of any kind to the hotel, other guests or their property, you (as the person making the booking) will be responsible for that damage or loss and you shall be liable to pay Ashby’s on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage or loss.

You and the members of your group must not resell or transfer your reservation (or any part of it) – Ashby’s will not honour any reservations made in this way and does not accept any liability for doing so.

If you or your group cause damage to the hotel, other guests or their property, or otherwise breach any of the terms and conditions listed on this page, Ashby’s reserves the right to:

Cancel your reservation with immediate effect and (if appropriate) eject you from the premises.

Restrict access to the hotel.

Remove your items from the room and hotel, disposing of such items (at no cost and no liability) to a local charity to the extent such items are not collected from us within 7 days of removal.

Retain all sums paid by you and/or charge you the full amount of your reservation; and/or

Refuse future reservations from you and/or refuse you entry and report you to the booking platform you reserved under. Ashby’s will not be liable for any refund or compensation in such circumstances.
